          A:  Im not sure what you are asking. Shutters come in a kit with two panels, 2 hanging strips, filler strips.

              A:  Since these shutters already come with a finish you would have to rub the surface with fine steel wool to prepare the surface for paint. We suggest you consult someone knowledgable in the paint department for refinishing advice.

                A:  These shutters are not designed to be ganged together, they require hanging strips on either side for installation and support. If you have a window opening that large you should look into custom shutters which will have frames and supports which will prevent sagging and provide functionality of the shutters.

                  Q:my window is 28 3/4" wide from the inside edge of casings (subtract 1/8" on each side to inside of frame), and 35 1/2 high resting on the window sill. Can I forgo using the hanging strips and mount the supplied hinges directly to the inside edge of the casings? (the casing is I X 4 pine, thus 3/4" thick). that way I can use the 29" wide shutters.

                  A:  We do not recommend installing them this way as it is not the intended installation. However so you are aware, our overall measurements include hanging strips so you are not calculating the size of the panels correctly. The 29" shutter kit will have two panels that are 13.25" and the 31" shutter kit will have two 14.25" panels.

                    A:  Here we would like to provide 2 options : (1) OMSID# 202758734 (MFG Model #QSPA3972) Plantation Faux Wood White Interior Shutter 39-41 x 72 For Outside Mount, fits window opening width of 33-1/2 to 36-1/2 in. and heights of 70-1/2 to 72 in. The actual shutter length is 72”, it’s able to cover the customer’s 64” long window. However, the customer still need to check if the wall or window frame is clean enough to mount the 72” long shutter. (2) OMSID# 202758736 (MFG Model #QSPA3974) Plantation Faux Wood White Interior Shutter 39-41 x 74 For Outside Mount, fits window opening width of 33-1/2 to 36-1/2 in. and heights of 72-1/2 to 74 in. The actual shutter length is 74”, it’s able to cover the customer’s 64” long window. However, the customer still need to check if the wall or window frame is clean enough to mount the 72” long shutter.
