Q:I have 2 windows together on one wall. Each window measures 35 1/4?W x 36 3/4? H There is molding around the whole thing, measuring 78 1/4? W x 39 1/2? H. What configurations and sizes would work best for my situation?

A:  There are limited sizes available in the shutters so you may make your decision based on whats available. These shutters require a left and right hanging strip if you inside mount you can treat the windows individually, if you outside mount you can use the overall measurement as long as you have a flat molding to mount the strips on. It is really based on the look and function you desire.

    A:  The maximum that can be trimmed from the top and bottom of a shutter panel is a total of a 1/4" inch on top and 1-1/4" inches on the bottom. They can be trimmed with a fine tooth circular saw. For details regarding the framing, please contact customer service at 877-220-4440 Monday thru Friday 9-5pm.

          A:  If you are referring to the window molding it is not part of the shutter kit. Kit contains shutter panels, hanging strips , fillers and hardware only.

            A:  Yes, they would require , a light sanding (steel wool is recommended) to prepare the surface overall, and good wipe down with a damp rag. Next , apply a spray paint in 2 or 3 light coats to avoid dripping and running. following the directions on the can. Please check with an expert in the paint department for their assistance picking the paint.
