Q:There is a photo above that shows the xcluder door sweep with both the steel wool-filled seal and a bristled brush, but that does not appear to correspond with this item as it has no mention or indication of the brush. Which item has both the seal and the brush?

Q:In anyone's opinion, for a side garage door, should one be installed inside and another outside the door? This is a perfect item to keep pests and leaves out but wanted to ask if I should purchase 2 of them. Thanks!

          Answer This Question

A:  You only need one. If you have a considerable gap at the bottom there is about a half inch of aluminum where you can drill holes higher to adjust the height / drop.

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in Xcluder Door Sweeps. So long as the gap under your door is less than .75" and you're able to screw the sweep to the bottom of the door you should not have a problem. It also sounds like there may be a raised threshold for your door, if that is the case there may be some considerations on whether to install the sweep on the inside or outside of the door. If you'd like to give our customer support line a call at 847-495-0029 one of our technical people would be happy to assess the situation and make some specific recommendations for the best installation.

              Answer This Question

A:  Residential metal doors are typically not solid metal. However, I just used a drill bit for drilling through metal. The provided screws worked well. The door sweep is still secure after two years plus. My door is an older metal door installed in 1996 with an MDF core not a wood core. It will be more secure in a newer door. Tape it to the door first and open and close the door to ensure it will smoothly sweep over the floor (floors aren't necessarily flat) and not get caught.

A:  Hi Stef, In most cases the sweep can be installed on either the inside or outside of the door. This is often done in situations where the door opens into the building and there is a threshold that might interfere if the sweep was installed on the outside of the door. Thanks!
