Q:I live in an HOA community in Las Vegas that is opposed to solar lamp posts along our driveways. They finally agreed we could put them in, but are requiring us to put in 433 lumens bulbs. Is this even remotely necessary or reasonable? If so, where can I purchase them?

A:  H8HOA: Thank you for your inquiry with HomeDepot.com. The XEPA Stay On Whole Night 300 Lumen 77 in. Outdoor Black Solar LED Post Lamp uses a maximum 300 Lumens light. This would not be as bright as the 433 lumens, if that amount is the maximum. We hope this information is helpful, we appreciate your business.

Q:Can I attach this to a paver stone instead of pouring cement?

      Answer This Question

A:  You could try that. Not sure if a paver would be heavy enough weight to keep post from tipping over especially in heavy wind. I dug a small hole maybe 8-10 inches deep. Use quick set concrete I got at HD and stuck post in it. Very easy. Post is in sections so I leveled & installed bottom piece and let cement dry well before putting rest together. It’s a very pretty lamp. Lights up a good amount of area. I did have to replace after about 2-1/2 yrs. wouldn’t charge anymore.

Q:The picture shows raindrop glass, but I received crackle glass in my order? (200 lumen old model seems to be crackle glass too) Anyone also received crackle glass? Is that what being shipped now? I don't really like the spider like pattern on the ground, just wondering if raindrop glass would look better.

        Answer This Question

A:  Answer my own question. I called XEPA (APEX) customer service. She checked their own web site and saw it showed raindrop glass. She said there were available as 2 versions (really?) and told me to contact Home Depot blaming they had mixed up the shipment if homedepot.com showed raindrop glass. I don't think she knew anything and offered nothing helpful I called Home Depot and the customer service said I should return the shipment and order another one to see if I get raindrop glass this time. I ordered 2nd one and it came again as crackle glass. Both 2 will go back to Home Depot and XEPA.

A:  CAREFUL!! I bought two like this and the solar panel on the top leaked when it rained. The globe of "crackle glass" turned out to be a VASE that they cut the top off to make it the right height, and so the rainwater collected and the next morning they were both half full of water! I called the company 6 times over 4 days and every time the call was not answered and the line eventually went dead. "MADE IN CHINA".

A:  I used a small amount of quick dry cement to cover the bottom. Not to much, didn't want to cover the sleek design.
