A:  If your mix has been pre-cooled in the refrigerator overnight, you have ice and salt in the right proportions, and it's a cool day, 10-20 minutes. If its a hot day, you didn't precool your mixture, and your salt/ice proportions aren't so good, hours or never. Making the mix a day before and refrigerating it over night is the step my kids always want to skip, but they are the ones who have to crank, so...natural consequences.

A:  I did a quick search of my usual parts suppliers but didn't find anything. I think you will need to contact the manufacturer directly.
