Questions and Answers for Whirlpool 12 ft. Tall Tub Dishwasher Drain Hose

A:  The diameter of the hose measures 2".

A:  The tube is made from a ribbed plastic so you could cut the tube to make it shorter. Cut the end that does not have the fitting on it.

A:  On whirlpool dishwashers the hose that connects at the sump/drain motor area is what is called the "drain loop" and it goes up and loops over on the left outside of the tub (hooked to tub), and then there is a rubber connection that the actual "drain hose" is connected to on that drain loop. This longer drain hose is supposed to be used in place of the 6ft drain hose that comes stock with this unit and is only required if you need more length. This drain hose is not meant to be hooked directly to the sump, that grey end is supposed to connect to the disposal.

A:  No this hose does not have a check valve in it. Your dish washer might have one some do and some don't. You can put loop in it so the water does not drain back it. The tensile strength and temperature tolerance are both more than adequate, but... You will need the right connecting hardware or, lacking those, barbs to "splice" this hose and (if used for supply line) faucet-fitting on the factory supplied hose.
