A:  Thank you for your question. We do not test our light fixtures with dusk to dawn light bulbs so we are unable to state if this type of bulb will work in this fixture. You would need to contact the manufacturer of the dusk to dawn bulbs to see if they are compatible with this type of fixture. This fixtures uses (2) medium (E26) base, 75 watt maximum, incandescent, LED or CFL light bulbs.

A:  Thank you for your question. This fixture should be hard wired to a standard light switch. We do not recommend converting it to a plug in.

A:  Yes, this comes with a weatherproof cap that covers the top of the opening.

A:  Yes there is.

A:  No there is not....I tend to just use a damp cloth a wipe them once a month.

A:  Yes, on the top only with a neoprene gasket. These lights are very well built. A little big but totally worth it.

A:  This wall lantern is an outdoor rated fixture and does have a 5 year warranty. The warranty covers defects in material or workmanship of the product. The warranty does not cover acts of nature such as lightening damage, corrosion or discoloration of the components nor does it cover damages from caused through abuse, improper installation, surges in electric current or acts of third parties.

A:  I have not had any issues with corrosion and judging from the coating/paint, which appears to be pretty substantial, these lamps are commercial grade, in my opinion, and shouldn’t corrode unless the installer chips or scratches the coating. Good luck!

A:  I bought this Steel Cylinder lights 2 years ago and have not had any corrosion problems. I did not choose warranty, so I do not know if warranty covers damage due to corrosion. I love my lights! They compliment the exterior perfect and received many compliments.

A:  Depends what kind of time switch. The fixture uses 2 standard-base bulbs, so it will work with the kind of time switch that's hard-wired into the circuit. This fixture is meant to be permanently mounted and hard-wired to a round box. For that reason, it would be hard to make this fixture work with a plug-in kind of time switch.

A:  Yes, absolutely. Obviously the timer cannot be located in the light housing but it definitely can be connected to a timer or a light sensor.

A:  You will need to make sure the type of light bulbs and the timer being used are compatible with each other. This fixture is uses (2) medium (E26) base lamps, 75 watt maximum.

A:  Well my is not hooked to a timer..we put the sensor for it to turn on at dusk and off at day. Works great and the look very modern.

A:  Should read “timer switch”

A:  I cannot honestly answer that question, unfortunately. I think that it depends on the wall surface (brick, siding, wood) and the box itself. The lamps are designed for outdoor use so in general terms that's an acceptable environment but ensuring the gasket is water tight, that depends on the use and the installer. The 4-inch dimension is standard and should be fine for mounting the fixture. Be sure to check the weight, they're really heavy duty and somewhat heavy. Good luck!

A:  If this fixture is used in an outdoor/wet location, you also need to provide a water-tight seal between fixture and mounting surface by using silicone or similar caulking.

A:  Not if the pancake box simply sits on the surface of a flat wall, without being recessed into a 4" wide hole. The fixture base is 4" wide and tapers to 1/2" thick (deep) at the side edges. It needs a box that doesn't stick out from the surface you're mounting to.
