Q:Why buy this product ? It consumes 3.5W of quiescent power. That means it is consuming 3.5W 7 days a week, 365 days a year. One would have to use a 40W incandescent bulb "to be worth it.".

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello Harry, thank you for your question. Yes, the standby power is 3.5W. This is the average consumption for this type of product as it needs to have relay standby for any motion sensed.

          Answer This Question

A:  This fixture is the switch. It could work on a switched circuit.

          by|Jul 20, 2023

A:  Hi there. This specific light control is to be used with a ceiling mounted, bare bulb light socket and the switch connected to that socket must be turned "ON" after installation for the light control to work. Turning the switch "ON" will not turn the light on; instead, it will allow the light control to come on when motion is detected.

Q:can this item be installed in ceiling fan

                      Answer This Question

A:  It may work, but it will likely be problematic. The ideal position for it to be installed is in a vertical, mounted, uncovered socket. Many ceiling fans have angled light sockets, so the light control may not work as well as it was designed to. It depends on the fixture itself, but a lot of ceiling fans have cones that cover most of the bulb for better appearance. If the cone is covering part of, or the entire motion sensor, it won’t work properly. The light control also cannot be behind glass or plastic of any kind.

                        A:  Sure; why not?

                        by|May 4, 2023

A:  Most are to be installed directly into the ceiling fixture, not into a 'fan'. I would recommend you ask the manufacturer. Do not go on someone's opinion.

                          by|May 3, 2023

A:  Not ideal. Most fans are getting away from this type of socket.
