A:  Read the answer to the question asked on February 16/2016. The manufacturer did answer to this question within the answer to the Februrary 16th question. It says the grill must be used as is and modifying it will void the warranty.

A:  Hello, Thank you for your question! Other than the cooking grates the S series has stainless steel flavorizer bars, stainless steel doors, and a stainless steel lid. The E series has porcelain enameled steel flavorizer bars, painted doors, and a porcelain enameled lid. Thanks!
