Q:I really want the ring for more room to smoke. Will the ring fit with a cooking grate in place? Or is it designed to work with no grate.

A: Maybe a small chicken or roast, but anything larger requires the grate to be removed. It is, however, an awesome rotisserie - quite powerful compared to others.

A: Hi! We don't recommend smoking inside your kettle with any additional accessories. If you are looking to smoke more foods we would recommend the Smokey Mountain cooker. Hopefully, this helps. Thank you!

A: After looking at the specs of the Smokey Mountain and seeing the pictures. I believe it will. The top is essentially a lid from a regular Weber kettle and it did say somewhere that the grates are 22 1/2 inch. These are the same specs on my kettle. Give it a try. The worst that can happen is you have to take it back if it doesn't fit. Good Luck!
