Q:How long is the total length of the screw-in pin from the underside of the strainer to the end of the pin?, and, when showering, how does the stopper stay up/open? When in the down position, how does it stay down so that there is no leakage?

      Answer This Question

A:  The pin adapter is 1 5/8 in. in length. The Universal NuFit bathtub stopper uses a friction ring that will allow the stopper to stay open and stay down along with a rubber gasket to prevent leaking back into the drain while using the bathtub. A:  All pin adapters are the same length. Watco sells the most commonly used combo pin 3/8-5/16 in., #10-24 and 1/4-20 pin adapters. The Combo pin SKUs are sold on HomeDepot.com. If you see a -2P on a SKU, that will include the combo pin plus the #10-24. Individual pins can be purchased at Watcomfg.com and click on "buy online". Use the search to find pin adapters. A:  I assume the actual drain is in just no strainer option. This will assemble to your drain with the adhesive and work perfectly after it drys.

A:  This is a perfect bathtub stopper you do not need to screw or attach it to anything. It simply sits on the drain opening trapping hair also very easy to clean. It works for my tub I can attach it to the screw but I don't need to. Hope this helps with your question.

A:  you need a drain with a screw center to attach the drain plug . I, guess you could glue it to the tub? not my recommend ?

                  by|Apr 9, 2019

A:  If you have nothing in the drain to screw into then it would come out of hole when you pull up to drain. You could replace your drain cup by removing old drain with tool sold at Home Depot also.

A:  The Watco Universal NuFit bathtub stopper can be used on a trip lever bath waste. You can also remove the trip lever assembly in the overflow and install a Watco Innovator Overflow by purchasing the 948700-PP-CP-G-47 kit on HomeDepot.com. This Trim kit incluse the Universal Stopper, silicone or brass pin adapter can be used to secure to the drain, plus the Innovator overflow kit to upgrade the Trip Lever overflow assembly. Since there are NO Cross bars, you will need to use the silicone to adhere to the drain flange. Also you can purchase a 948700-PP-CP SKU and that only includes silicone. Save some money that way! FYI - To remove a Universal NuFit with silicone --> Dental floss has been said to work great as it cuts right through the silicone!

A:  No it doesn't. I closed it and filled the tub to about 3 inches. I came back later to find the tub all drained. Really disappointing. Does not stop the water from going down apparently. I assumed it did.

A:  Yes this would work. You would use the silicone to glue the stopper down versus using the pin method.

A:  Hi CheryI, I used this to spruce up a stopper that was somewhat corroded in a tub that is 30 years old. The large round strainer that you see at the bottom has a sleeve that fits perfectly into your current drain pipe. The round plate then fits snugly and flush on the visible part of your drain. The knob part is the only part that moves up and down. This unit simple covers what is already in the tub. I used the glue to install. So easy and best of all no ripping out old parts. Hope this helps.
