A:  I don't know. According to the Homedepot website it is Not!

A:  I don't see a UL listing anywhere on the box. And the one I have in my shop doesn't seem to have a knock over shut off. But it is quiet and heats my 20x20" shop adequately.

A:  Well... I bought these for Christmas presents. At the time they were in the store.

A:  Mine did!

A:  With the thermostat setting set at it's lowest point the heater should come on at around 45 degrees F. If your heater is not coming on at full thermostat: make sure your electrical plug has power that a circuit breaker didn't trip ? If it still doesn't come on it sounds like you may have a defective thermostat. I own 10 of these heaters that I use in different residences and have never had a thermostat problem.

A:  Check to see if the heater is sitting flat on the floor. It has a small plunger underneath, if that thing is sticking out even a little bit, the heater won't operate. Otherwise check the wall plug (actually called a receptacle if you want to sound impressive to the inlaws) with a lamp to see if the circuit is working, if the plug is good, then the heater is not . . . :(

A:  The unit I bought is VERY quiet. No rattles.

A:  I don't think so. Of course, the fan makes some noise but I've never found it to be distracting.

A:  No, it is very quiet. I specifically bought these because it is quiet. I have one in the RV. One as supplemental heating in a bedroom and one in my company president's office.

A:  As compared to other portable heaters it's slightly quieter than most.

A:  Short answer, sounds a little quieter than an old dishwasher from 2005 on rinse . . This heater has a metal fan blade, the fan HAS to move enough air past the heating element to keep it from overheating inside the heater . . . low is 900 watts, high is 1500 watts. As the fan runs it eventually picks up dust from the air which coats it, and interferes with the laminar flow (really, Google it) of the air across the blade and makes a whole lotta racket after it collects enough dust to do so. Try blowing out the dust (outside, or you'll end up choking). Before it gets dirty, it has to get that air moving which makes racket. the solution is a large blade running at a lower speed, but most folks don't want something that is more expensive, and a whole lot bigger to hold a large fan blade.

A:  Yup, it has a fall over switch to protect the house from errant kitties , kids, and their parents. This model is made for affordability, keep looking, they are out there with remotes, but at 7 times the price.

A:  The heater has thermal over-heat protection.

A:  This item does automatically shut off and the other information is not available.

A:  Yes, this item does have a tip over switch.

A:  The first knob has to be turned all the way up, or else it will keep shutting off. It also shuts off when it gets too hot.

A:  This heater has 2 heat settings, 900 and 1500 watts. This might seem weird, but I have one, have had it for years and here's how to keep it on longer. If you are in a small room, and keep the thermostat up all the way, the fan heats up the room quickly, samples the temperature in the room, says "good enough" and shuts down . . the heating and air conditioning folks call this short cycling . . believe it or not, if you switch to the LOW setting from the HIGH setting, and then leave the thermostat all the way up, it'll take longer to heat up the room, but all the time it is running, it's pulling in the coldest air in the room, near the floor, and warming it up . . cold feet feeels like a cold room . . try it and see, some times opening up the door to the room a little bit, letting a LITTLE hot air out at the top of the door, makes the heater stay on longer and pull more of the coldest air near on the floor past it's heating element, warming those tootsies up longer . . former electrician, and person with chilly feet . . .

A:  Hi Kee, Check your settings. If the heater is set to low heat, once the area reaches that warmth setting, it will shut off, having done its job. If you want the area to remain heated, turn the setting on higher. When set to the highest setting, the heater doesn't turn off.

A:  Turn the thermostat on the heater clockwise until it stops and it will most likely run continuously.

A:  It is junk. No warranty. Toss it.

A:  Turn up the thermostat. If its shutting off when the thermostat is turned up all the way it could be the over heat protection.

A:  You may have it on the fan only setting or the heating element has failed.

A:  Did you check the settings? It the heater set to heat or fan? the first setting is off, then air and then followed by low and high heat.

A:  Your heater is busted and it is unsafe to run. Return for replacement or a refund. Without the fan to cool off the heat element (and send that hot air into the room) the heater is a serious fire hazard. That is why the variable temperature switch on the left turns on the fan before the heater coils are turned on. This information is in the product literature that should have been in the box when you got the product.

A:  Mine failed after a few months. It's not a good product. You can use it as a paper weight or toss it out.

A:  First mode on heater is fan only....no heat. Second mode is low heat. Third mode is high heat.

A:  Hi Sylvia, Unplug the heater for 5 - 10 minutes so that it can reset. Plug it back in and enjoy the warmth.

A:  I've done the same thing with mine a few times. With the floor not allowing sufficient airflow to pull the heat away, the unit triggers its overheat shutoff. I just unplugged it for 10 minutes or so (per the manual I received with it) and it automatically reset.

A:  Unplug it and stand it up again on its feet/bottom. It has an automatic shut off for when it is not upright so that the heater will not star a fire (such as in the carpet). Wait about 10 minutes or so for the internal temperature sensor to cool back down to the ambient temperature, then plug the heater in again and turn it on. These directions are in the product literature that came with the heater.

A:  Did you try unplugging it then plugging it in (to reset it) . If it fell from a shelf or something like that it could be broken. It is not built like a tank. Remember the price you paid for it.
