A:  They are hollow inside, so they would fit a pyramid top post if the point of the post wasn't very high. They definitely will fit the flat top post. I've placed them on both finished and full sized posts, and find that they need a couple of small nails or brads to keep them in place. Just like a copper penny, they are shiny bright to start, and then after a few years they turn brown.

A:  Mine are on a flat top. They are not very deep if they fit if would be pure luck.

A:  I think it might be kryptonite. I purchased 32 of these for my wood fence posts. Tried to drill 3/32 holes to secure them with small nails but whatever metal they use is virtually impenetrable. Worse than stainless steel, which I doubt is the case.

When the board is first rough sawn from the log, it is a true 4x4, but the drying process and planing of the board reduce it to the finished 3.5x3.5 size. Here is the common size of lumber, and its actual size. 4" x 4" common rough sawn size; 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" actual size; 89 x 89 mm size in mm. Thank you

A:  Turned out that HD had the wrong title on this. It's just copper, through and through. Title was confused with Waddell's model# 220 instead of 230.
