A: Like any other wood, they will rot over time. Since they are not permanent screens, they should last for many many years.

Q:I only see 10", 15" and 18" high versions and I don't think the 18" will fit in a 17 1/2 slider window and 15" will leave a gap.

A: These are not made for slider windows. They are designed for double hung windows. They are adjustable for width with fixed heights.

A: If your window is a double hung window, and when the bottom sash is open to max, then you can use the 15 x 37 which will fit. This is not a full window type screen.

A: The screen is 15” high so it should fit with 3/4” to spare. The width should not be a problem. These are sturdy frames and the screen has so far withstood my cats claws!

A: It does not slide very easily, so it would stay extended. The frame is metal, so it would be easy to bent it very slightly where you needed it to get it to stay.

A: I don't think that will work. they are extremely flimsy and not well made at all. Barely work horizontal. One broke after taking out of the window (first time)

A: Light duty. Treat it carefully. Does keep bugs out and fits in windows where manufacturer screens are not readily available. I have bought more than one.
