Answer This Question

A:  There is a 3 year warranty and as far as installing into a basement with a 7ft clearance you can find all of the clearance information for this stove in this installation guide. We suggest sticking to this guide pretty strictly. https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/40/4040f21f-cb75-46ee-9958-e9f0df0188e7.pdf

A:  The blower is attached to the back and blows up and over the stove to move radiant heat. I don't see how it could be piped into heat ducts.

A:  Blocking the damper system can change the way the unit burns and can cause excessive smoke. we do not recommend blocking the intakes.

A:  Its 6" from the top of the stove. I installed it to an 8" insulated pipe chimney system with an adapter about 4' above the stove and it seems to work well. My chimney maybe sucking too hard on it as it seems harder to shut down than I thought it would.

              A:  This uses a 6 inch flue

A:  one damper is your primary which you will have open when you start. this lets air in the front of the firebox. the other is your secondary which lets air into the tubes at the top. you will use this one once your fire is burning.

A:  This stove is a does not work. I think something is wrong with the primary intake. The handle is loose and sloppy feeling, and the stove has made my house smell like an ash tray. I know my chimney has plenty of draw, because the stove we replaced with the ponderosa burned very well. We thought the ponderosa would be so much more efficient and thats why we bought it. I dont know what to do now, I may try to see if Home Depot really means 100% Satisfaction guarantee!

A:  not very well they are very sloppy and don't seem to allow enough air in. only seems to burn correctly when the door is cracked open.

A:  I want to revise my scathing question/statement. I stayed home today and had not had a fire in the Ponderosa all weekend so it was good and out. I cleaned out the ash and then started checking the primary damper and discovered it is working fine. Its a little sloppy in its fit, but it slides open and closed like its suppose to. I found my problem, and have to admit it was no fault of this stove. I had installed a damper in the pipe above the stove (even though the manual says you dont need to) and had it in so that its flapper was not lined up with the handle in any way. So it was closed when we thought it was open etc. I removed it from the stove pipe and today the stove seems to be functioning quite well, I even over fired it a bit and now smoke exits up the chimney even when you open door to load it. So I think the problem was all mine and its functioning well. I owe them an apology as of now, it seems to be working well.

A:  This is most likely because the stove is not getting enough oxygen. Please call us at 800-750-2723 so that we can assist.

A:  I have the same problem. The stove doesn't seem to get enough air. I even installed a small fan in the fresh air intake but it didn't seem to help. I have had mine two weeks. I 'am going to return mine
