Both rectangular and semicircular plates that covers the air exit for the transition is already pre-cut and it can be removed by prying with a flat screwdriver. The transition covers both holes and must be installed using the same screws that it has. You can find the Venting Requirements / Guidelines For Installing Ductwork section in page 8.
