A: Depends on location-next to a house with block edging, youll be fine. Ours is along a chainlink fence dividing our lawn so wind hits all sides. Our edging is the thin aluminum so yes, when trying to blow leaves, mulch will blow just like wood mulch would

A: My experience has been that it does blow around in extremely windy conditions.

A: We have it and have never had an issue with it blowing at all.

A: I disagree. It has weight to it. Wind doesn't blow it away. In my experience, when we get very heavy rains some pieces flow out to the sidewalk. However I have a good amount on my beds, higher than the stone retainers. It keeps the weeds down.

A: The rubber mulch is made from recycled tires. It is heavier than wood mulch. However, it can be moved around in extremely windy conditions.

A: I have the black rubber mulch around our shrubs and 90+ bags behind our house. I have not experienced this mulch getting hot in the sun. I have not have any issues with our shrubs drying out or being affected by this mulch. Our shrubs are pretty much in full sun. I highly recommend the rubber mulch.

A: If the rubber mulch is exposed to the sun, it will get hot just like any other outside surface.

Answer This Question
A: In normal times, you could check with various Home Depot's, as not all of them carry the black rubber mulch.
Due to the pandemic, the manufacturers stopped producing the rubber mulch. Some of the Home Depots had what the had left over in their inventory but the manufacturers are trying to catch up. I just did a large project using 90 bags. I had to go to multiple stores to find what I needed. Also, not all home depots carry the black, most carry red or brown. Keep trying multiple stores around you.

A: I bought over 90 bags of the black rubber mulch. I would say it weighs about 1/2 the weight of wood mulch. This is much easier to use and the best thing, it doesn't close its color for year, I believe they say 12 years. It's a little more money but you don't have to replace every year, like wood mulch.

A: You need to pull out weeds first, try to get the roots if possible. Then put this in your flower beds. You may have to pull a few stray weeds, but it does a good job. It's recycled, and you're not attracting termites like wood mulch, important if you have a wooden framed house.
