Answer This Question
A: Vick,
We always recommended placing our shower bases in a bed of mortar, with something similar to quikcrete sand/topping mix. Without this as a foundation the base will not be solid and it may creak when in use.

Answer This Question
A: From the information provided, it sounds as if you received the incorrect shower base. The 32x48 shower base should measure 48 1/8 x 32 1/8. Please check the labels on the side of the shower base box to make sure. If in fact you received the incorrect base, you would need to contact the retailer of purchase in order to obtain the correct size shower base.

Answer This Question
A: This base is in fact the 32 x 48 model. More specifically, the measurements of this base are 48 1/8" x 32 3/8". This base is a two sided flanged unit. Meaning this base is designed to connect to a wall on two sides and have a 2 sided rectangular enclosure unit sitting on the two finished curb sides of the base. The thickness of the curb is 2 7/8" and is designed to go with our shower enclosures, which are frameless units. This is not to say that they can not be used with other shower enclosures, they would just need to match up size wise and require no more than a 2 7/8" curb to support the unit. The base also gets set in a mud base, specifically something sand based. This will give the base a solid surface underneath and be able to hold as much weight as necessary. A: The 32 x 48 inch dimensions are "finished" dimensions allowing for the base to butt up against the 2 by 4s and 3/8 inch drywall down to the lip. Standard shower doors at 48 inch opening work perfectly well with this shower tray.

Q:Drain measurement
by|Jul 12, 2014

Answer This Question
A: The drain location for this shower base is 12" off the left flange of the shower base and 16 1/4" off the back flange of the shower base. Please note that these are measurements to the flange of the shower base, which will screw into the studs in the wall. These are NOT measurements from each finished wall.

Q:What are the measurements of the drain location? We currently have a 36 x 36 square pan about 17 inches from the wall
by|Apr 8, 2014

Answer This Question
A: The drain location for this base measures at 16 1/4" off the back wall and 12" off the left wall. These measurements are from the flange of the base (which will screw into your studs in the wall) to the center hole of the drain. Please note that these measurements will change when compared to the distance from your finished wall, based on the thickness of your walls.
