A: You can reuse them if the rat doesn't get the trap messy. Definitely use disposable gloves to remove the rat and add fresh bait
A: It can be reused, I have done it.
A: I reused it and it works. I have been reusing this for a while (several months). This product is great, reliable and reusable.
A: They can be reused if you don’t mind removing the dead rat.
A: In my opinion it’s a safety concern as to reusing traps that have successfully capture an animal. The animal is likely to have deposited potential infectious material on the trap. Also mechanically the trap may have been damaged ( even if not obvious ) in a way that makes setting it again unsafe. Lastly I put on cheap disposable gloves, put the trap and animal into a large zip lock bag, seal the bag and drop it into the garbage can along with the gloves.
A: This trap may be reused.
A: If the trigger is pressed while the trap is set, the trap will go off.
A: you get hurted
A: We recommend traps be placed perpendicular with the bait closest to the wall.
A: Baited trap should be placed with the long side perpendicular with a wall and the trigger end at the wall. This worked well for us
A: I was told by my pest control company that rodents use their whiskers to travel along walls, so traps should be placed with the catching side facing the wall so the rodent can run into/over it while on its normal path, so perpendicular with the bait side facing the wall.
A: Thier so much easier to set than original trigger and after much use thier a pain to set. Professional expanded trigger is the way to go, worth the money.
A: This trap is designed to be easier to set than the original, and it can be set to either firm or sensitive, allowing the trap to trip with very little force or more force.
A: In my opinion the larger trigger area helps the effectiveness of the trap, as opposed to the original small metal trigger. The plastic trigger also has two levels of sensitivity ( per Victor) controlled by where the rod is placed at the trigger. We had no situation to test that, setting ours to the most sensitive level.
A: Firm and sensitive. There are two notches in the yellow pad where the trigger arm rests. You can select either firm or a more sensitive release setting. Happy hunting! Mikey
A: no
A: 3 1/4” x 7”
A: Its dimensions are: Product Depth (in.) 7.2 in Product Height (in.) 1.3 in Product Width (in.) 3.3 in
A: These traps are 7" x 3.25" x 1".
A: These are not pre-baited. You can put a pea size amount of peanut butter on these if you want but if you put them along the wall, etc. where the rats would travel, bait isn't really needed.
A: The prebait seems to be more of a smell rather than anything that can be eaten. There are slots to put "food" into. The rats loved these traps as they could set them off - without being caught- and eat the food at their leisure. It didn't matter if the trap was set at regular or sensitive pressure these traps seldom caught anything.
A: No bait supplied with the set I purchased. I made bait by covering a raisin with peanut butter and pushing the raisin onto the trigger pad bait hook BEFORE arming the spring.
A: No.
A: I don't use prebait. I have very good success with peanut butter
A: I do not use prebait. I have very good success with peanut butter
A: With my rentals, I have been catching rats for years. Peanut butter smeared lightly over the paddle is best but not too heavy. This is the best trap ever and several times I have even caught two rats at the same time.
A: No. It's a barely discernible 'cheese' odor. Victor suggests using a high-protein bait (AKA peanut butter). Really, no bait is needed, the traps work great.
A: I don’t know about the plastic fake cheese. I put peanut butter on anyway. Be sure to use rubber gloves.those rats can smell very well, and their very smart. I’ve caught many rats with these traps. The same trap with the all metal trip mechanism doesn’t work. The plastic cheese has much more trip area.
A: They can be used outdoors but will degrade after a few years.
A: Yes. This trap can be used outdoors; however, we recommend keeping it out of reach of children and pets.
A: Yes, you can use the product outdoors, however the metal may rust in the elements.
A: Yes they may be used outdoors, it will just shorten the life of the trap if they get wet.
A: I use them outdoors but they do get rusty. Still work.
