A:  Yes, a cap with a vinyl opening of 4 by 4 inches will fit with this (SKU 212857).

    A:  Thank you for your question. A post cap that has a true 4x4 inch opening for a vinyl post will fit this post sleeve. SKU #212857 may work for you.

      A:  It is a very hard and smooth surface. If roughed up maybe. Good product though. Compared to the cost of other products it might be worth the effort to try painting one. Maybe you could then heat gun it and pressure wash to see if the paint adheres.

        A:  Thank you for your question. The material is PVC coated to be low maintenance and not require painting, and most paints do not adhere well to the coating. You may speak with a paint specialist to learn if paints designed for PVC may work and if so, how to apply them to get the best performance.

              A:  You may want to check the Veranda website for colors. I've only seen white at Home Depot, but if Veranda ofers other colors, HD may be able to special order for you.

                Q:This says 'white capped' sleeve. Does this product include a cap and therefore a separate one doesn't need to be purchased?

                A:  It does not include a cap. Most standard 4x4" composite/plastic fence or deck post caps will fit. I think the "white capped" should be revised to "white clad " to be more accurate.

                  A:  Thank you for your question. The description refers to "capped composite" meaning the sleeve has a PVC coating on it. The post cap would still need to be purchased separately.
