A: Yes, our Varathane Gel Stain may be applied to exterior fiberglass doors. We recommend applying our Varathane Spar Urethane to protect the surface once the Gel Stain has dried for a minimum of 24 hours: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-qt-Clear-Gloss-Water-Based-Exterior-Spar-Urethane-Case-of-2-250041H/202057143

A: Happy to clear things up, Alex! We do not recommend Rust-Oleum Varathane Gel Stain for use on floor surfaces. Instead, we recommend Rust-Oleum Varathane Premium Wood Stains! Please keep in mind, when using on a floor it will need to be topcoated with a suitable floor polyurethane to ensure adhesion and durability.

A: Not at all! As long as you're careful and protect the surrounding areas, you can stain the door using Varathane Gel Stain. Often times, it's nice to use plastic sheets and painters tape around the areas that you're not staining. This product is thick so you'll have control during the application.
