Q:Why is there a big gap in between the security door and frame?

A: Thank you for your interest in our Su Casa Patio Security Door. The Patio Security door uses a projection mount because the sliding glass door and frame does not provide adequate depth for the lock-set/handle-set hardware that will be installed on the security door. It must be projected outward to allow for the lock-set to fit. I hope this information is helpful for you.
