A:  The screen is heavy metal and is not replaceable. Not likely to get damaged after it is installed, but you would have to replace the whole door if it was.I did see one damaged in the store but it either fell over on something sharp, or was hit by a forklift and tore the screen.

A:  They are not glass and they would work find in a hurricane or a very heavy storm. I do wish you could make them reversable so that the door opening could open either way.

A:  The screen is not like a window screen its more like a steel mesh. My Germen Shepard jump on it but did not tear it but did dent and scratch it, The holes are bigger than a window screen and will let small bugs in. I am happy with this door.

A:  If I'm understanding correctly, you are wondering if you install the doors with the 'new' locks in place...will they interfere with your existing lock and knob. Truthfully I don't know what the clearance (if any) would be between the 2 sets of locks and knobs if both were on the right. But, I do believe that this door can be '"flipped" to where the 'new' lock and knob would be on the left....eliminating the need to buy the expensive lock you mentioned. Hope this helps.
