    A:  This grate was intended for the 1261 which is a wood or coal camp stove. The dimensions for the grate is 7" X 17.4". We cannot guarantee proper fit into a King 628.

        A:  This will not fit the 1269E because the 1269E is equipped with air tubes. We do not have a grate that will go into the 1269E currently.

                    Q:The grate for the model 1261 is the perfect size for my gas fireplace. The ceramic logs will sit on top of the grate however I'm concerned that the metal will not be able to withstand the temperature generated by a natural gas flame. I'd appreciate your comments. Thank you.

                    A:  The grate used in the 1261 is not recommended for a gas fireplace due to the grate never being tested to meet safety codes and our standards. I would advise against using the grate for safety concerns.

                      A:  The grate for the 1261 is a G26. You can call our 1-800-750-2723 ext 5051 to order one and they are cast iron.
