Q:I noticed with a few of my larger cracks, after applying the drylok, it sunk down in the crack. ...

Answer This Question

A:  Yes - You can apply another layer on top. Make sure the area is clean and dry. The product will shrink a little as the water evaporates during the curing/drying process.

A:  Yes - it will sink as it dries in larger cracks. If you want a smooth surface, I would suggest allowing it to fully dry and add another layer ... repeating until you end up with the surface smoothness you prefer. It seems it took a few weeks for mine to dry on basement cement, but it was a while ago so I don't remember. Also I didn't try refilling the cracks, so this is just my idea of what would work.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. If the area you are using the Masonry Crack Filler is subject to hydraulic pressure, DRYLOK Fast Plug would be a better product to use.

A:  Yes I did and it looked good.

Q:Can this be used on a vertical crack in my concrete foundation that runs inside and outside?

          Answer This Question

A:  If it worked on the ground outside, where I used it, I don't see why it should not work vertically. However, the product has a depth limit beyond which one should use 'fillers' first (written outside the tube). I did find that Quikrete products which are made for different depths and thicknesses are more satisfactory.

A:  Typically it is not for anything but exterior. If you own the home, and you know how to remove it if you’re not satisfied, do what u want. But no.

A:  Does this product require using a caulking gun?

A:  I used this on cracked brick motor spreads good drys hard worked very well.

A:  I would suggest using DRYLOK Fast Plug Hydraulic Cement instead. Fast Plug will expand in the crack and is resistant to hydrostatic pressure. Fast Plug is a cement and requires mixing with water, see label for full instructions.

A:  Hi, I used this product to seal around the base of some outside steps (just did it last summer so no idea how it might hold up long term). It drys with a gray color and appears to work well for that application. It is like a caulk in consistency, so it would seem to be appropriate to seal/waterproof a crack, but would not offer any structural support if the crack runs all the way through the wall. The manufacturer's instructions on one of my cannisters states "Fills cracks in masonry walls, sidewalks, steps and floors." It can be use for interior or exterior applications. Hope this helps.

A:  Its a cement used for stopping leaks. I used on my basement walls. No water since i used it. After applying I used drylock also. As for your question I would try it if your looking to stop water from coming in.

A:  I'm no expert, but I would think so. I used it on some small (about 1/8") cracks in my foundation wall and it worked well. Only concern might be durability if it's a high traffic area. It's easy to work with so I'd give it a try.

A:  Bcny, please make sure the surface is dry. The surface temperature must be above 50 degrees F until it cures. It will not cure correctly if it freezes before curing is complete.

                                by|May 5, 2023

A:  Use on a dry surface and not if freezing within 24 hours. It skins rather quickly but I would avoid using it if temps are below the low 40's.
