A: Unfortunately no, the mounting system is set up to use the down-rod which is 9" and places the overall height at 19". You can shorten the down-rod by cutting the non-threaded end to the desired length and then re-drill the safety pin hole.

A: Unfortunately no, the Titan is a DC powered fan and the remote is built into the unit. The remote also handles the DC-motor driver which converts the 120-volt to 12-volt dc.

A: Yes it can. But you cannot switch speeds. You can set the remote to the speed you want it to operate at and throw the remote in a box in the garage. Then when you flick on the power switch it will startup at that speed. then the switch will operate the fan. You are not going to want to run it lower than high speed it is pretty slow on high
