Questions and Answers for TOTALPOND 16 oz. Chlorine Remover

A:  I think it only for fish ponds. It does not state on bottle that it can be used for swimming pools.

A:  Quick answer is "no" Suggestion on reducing the amount of chlorine in the pool would be to just run the pump and let the chlorine dissipate naturally. Sunlight and circulation is what removes it naturally anyways, besides you do not want to expose your skin to the chemicals in the chlorine remover. Whatever is in it makes it unsuitable for fish farming for human consumption, so I would think soaking your body in water treated with it could possible be detrimental to one's health...........

A:  While this is safe for fish in a pond it is not necessarily good for human consumption! You might instead use charcoal filter attached to a pump and circulate water thru the filter, that should help.

A:  I don't think it will, try the carbon filter with coconut filter.

A:  Because our dog and cat both drink out of our pond I would have to say it is safe. We have used it for years and the fish, frogs and the thousands of birds that drink from it would indicate it is safe.

A:  if it doesn't kill the fish ( and mine are healthy) I can't imagine it harming other animals. as it is other animals in the wild drink it as well.

A:  Apply the water treatment after the water change has been done. When adding the treatment make sure you have the circulating to help remove the chlorine from the water.

A:  If you don't have any fish in the water it wouldn't matter of course. I add it to the water before I run it into the pond. I use a 5 gal bucket and add a cap full as the bucket fills up and then using a small pump run it into the pond.

A:  I add it during. I pour it into the stream from the hose.

A:  If your pond is all ready filled and you are adding water to refill it from evaporation loss, you must add the amount of chemical for the amount of water to refill your pond before the new water is added to protect the fish. You do not have to add the full amount for a empty pond each time but just the amount for the water you are adding to bring the pond back up to full. We add about a 100 gallons of water every two weeks during the summer months and use the directions on the bottle for just that amount.

A:  Deionized water, Sodium Thiosulfate, plymers, stabilizers.

A:  I think you would be wasting it. Just follow the directions on the label. If the thought that by adding more chemical would allow you to add water with out hurting the fish at any time would be risky

A:  from what I understand the amount you use wouldn't hurt anything but your costs.

A:  I did that once, and there were no ill effects. (It is easy to add too much).

A:  It is not recommended to over dose on any water treatment, it's best to use the recommended dosage then test the water to make sure all chlorine has been removed. In the case that you may have to retreat the water you are welcome to add a second dosage, if fish are present or will be present make sure there is enough aeration in the pond.
