Answer This Question

A:  Rough Cut Trailcutters are typically pulled with an ATV or UTV since you are using it in brush. A riding mower can pull it, but the size needed really depends on a number of things. Your average mower with an average sized person should pull it just fine. We do not recommend using this item with rocks. A:  I use a 425cc Polaris with manual shift to mow a meadow with, I suppose, rolling hills. It is perfect. I have a 250cc automatic shift Polaris Trail Boss that only has forward-neutral-reverse and uses a belt to connect the motor to the drive wheels. Pulling this unit up hills with the Trail Boss at only the 5 miles an hour recommended would most likely cause premature wear on the drive belt so watch out. If the mower blades hit rocks they will get dinged to damaged. The blades are big & heavy so a mistake will probably be forgiven but mowers and rocks don't go well together. If, however, the mower actually goes over the rocks and doesn't hit them - no harm done. You just can't mow a rock. If the 250cc Polaris was a manual shift it would be fine, it has the power, but the automatic feature and the drive belt eliminate any desire to stress the unit that much - it could be costly, the drive belts aren't cheap.
