A:  Sorry, but we installed this in a customer's home years ago. We don't recall but would have followed manufacturer's instruction. The home owner has been happy with the product.

A:  No, it is a mat finish that will look dull next to bright white wall tile. I had the one I bought glazed by Miracle Method to match our wall tile.
