But information they will definitely want to know is that our shower pan is 42" from side to side and 34" from front to back, and our threshold is 2-3/4" deep. Good luck on your bathroom project!

A:  We used Pvc for the connection. It works fine and is the most economical.

A:  We appreciate you considering our SS-3442 shower base for your bath remodel. Although we can't speak to acrylic products, our solid surface material, Swanstone, is a compression-molded, thermoset material consisting of a blend of polymer resins, fillers and reinforcement additives. The manufacturing process results in a product with extreme resistance to heat, impact, expansion and chemicals. The color runs completely through the 1/4" thick material and and there is no surface coating to chip or crack. The matte finish is easily cleaned using common household cleansers (including abrasive cleansers). Hopefully, this product infomration will help in a comparison to acrylic shower bases.

A:  Swan's solid surface material has a matte finish. One of the advantages to the matte finish is the ability to clean the surface using common household cleansers, even abrasives if necessary.

A:  The SS-3442 shower floor measures 34" from front to back and 42" from left to right. The 42" side is where the entry point/threshold is located. This shower floor will accept any standard-size shower door designed to fit a 42" wide opening. We hope this information helps you choose a shower floor for your bath remodel.

A:  Swan's solid surface products are durable and will maintain their appearance for years to come. The floor has a matte finish that easy to clean/maintain with common household cleaners. Abrasive cleansers such as Comet or Ajax are approved as well as a nylon scouring pad or a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Although designed to be scratch resistant, very fine scratches can be buffed out with an abrasive cleanser. For deeper scratches, fine grit sandpaper (360 or 400 grit) can be used. If desired, an automotive rubbing compound can be used after sanding to even out the texture.

A:  Hello Dave, This unit is designed to be installed so that the shower door is on the side that is 42". There is a shower floor flange that is on 3 sides for installation purposes. The shower door would be on the side that doesn't have the shower floor flange. On pages 9 and 10 of the installation manual it goes over the proper installation guild lines of the shower floor flange.
