Answer This Question

A:  Yes. I used this paint on a previously painted concrete floor. Completely vacuumed and washed the concrete before painting.

A:  Yes, the product can be applied to a previously painted surface. : Remove all oil, grease, dirt or other foreign matter by scrubbing the surface with an Oil and Grease Emulsifier. Rinse well with clean water and allow it to dry. Remove loose, flaking paint by scraping or power washing. Glossy surfaces must be dulled by sanding.

A:  I applied it on a driveway that had been painted with a slippery coating several years prior. It seems to to holding up well after a couple of years. It does come up in small bits if damaged, so I would be sure to have some protection for sharp/rough furniture feet. It really works well as an anti-slip surface.

A:  Yes, as long as the existing product is not silicone base. That would repel any coating.

A:  I would think so, I'd just make sure to clean the stones of any algae before painting if you're having slipping issues now. The paint works great, just make sure to stir well and frequently so the grit (or sand) in the paint gets distributed evenly.

A:  I used this product on interior basement laundry room concrete floors but have not used it yet in an exterior application; that being said my opinion yes, it could be used on exterior stepping stones. The key I believe is to clean and prepare the service to be painted thoroughly before application. I was able to achieve superior results by spending time cleaning and preparing the surface first.

Q:Several folks mention that the finish is like walking on fine sandpaper. That doesn't sound too appealing for a garage floor. Can anybody clarify this description?

                  Answer This Question

A:  It is not unpleasant to walk on, even barefoot. It has a fine, well mixed grit. It is after all "anti-slip". It is a good, durable paint but I don't know if it's suitable for vehicle traffic. This paint was unavailable for quite awhile & I missed it because other brands weren't as good or spreadable. This company makes other paints without grit if you don't want it.

A:  This is fantastic paint. "Fine" is the operative word in your question, and I would agree that it is like fine sandpaper. You don't want plain paint on any walking surface that may encounter water. This the best anti-slip paint I have ever used, and the only one I've used since first trying it years ago.
