Q:I bought a LG dryer and it needs a 10awg wire and the colors it shows behind the dryer for the wires is red black and white will this work? I don’t need a plug in because it’s being hardwired into a naval ship so I just need like 150-200 ft of a 10awg

A: Yes, this is 3 conductor wire plus a ground. The romex will have a black, red, and white wire as well as a bare copper wire for grounding. This should work for your application.

A: No this Romex is meant to serve a 115V circuit with with a hot, neutral and ground. Your electric dryer connection is 240V and has two hots (red and black) and the neutral which serves as a ground. NOT THE SAME AT ALL

Q:Can i put a 40 amp breaker on this wire?

A: No! unless you're in a situation you can break the rules (very unlikely). 10 awg is 30amp max, 8 gauge is 40amp you need 8awg. Putting a 40 amp breaker on this 30amp wire means the wire can catch fire before the breaker trips and illegal/dangerous.
