A:  It is fan blown heat.

A:  This style does not have an infrared firebox. Therefore, the usual and customary square footage this unit heats is 400 sq. ft. We do have several styles with infrared fireboxes on homedepot.com. They can usually heat approximately 1,000 sq. ft.

A:  Glass front. It does not open

A:  Yes. The firebox is a self contained piece that sets into the fireplace once it is assembled.

A:  GREAT NEWS! The unit is designed with and includes a hinged panel that lifts up to fill in the corner or drops down when the unit is used with a straight wall. Thank you.

A:  Although it does not go all the way in thy o the corner, it does come with a 12" corner extension

A:  Thanks for asking. There is a triangular panel that is on a piano hinge attached to the back of the fireplace. If you elect to use your fireplace against a straight wall you would leave the panel down. If you elect to use your fireplace in a corner you would lift the hinged panel which would fit and fill the corner.

A:  This fireplace is made of real wood veneers over MDF.

A:  ALL of our fireplaces use real wood veneers over MDF. Solid wood tends to crack or split with the ebb and flow of heat generated by the fireplaces: NO paper is used. Any tiles or slates are "faux." While they look and feel very real they are cast polyresin with the same depth, texture and "hand" of their natural counterparts!
