Q:I have a paneled gas fireplace, can these stick to the paneling?

Answer This Question
A: Hello, thanks for your question and interest in Smart Tiles for your fireplace decoration. The peel and stick Smart Tiles are heat resistant so you can install around a fireplace. However, it is highly recommended to prevent direct contact with open flame. The surface has to be smooth (and not porous or rough) and a good cleaning and drying prior to installation will be required. Use a good degreaser such as TSP. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any question.

Answer This Question
A: Hello, thanks for your question and interest in Smart Tiles for the peel and stick backsplash in a rental apartment. The tiles are easy to remove with a blow dryer if you warm up each peel and stick tile long enough to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners. Remove with little to no damage to the wall depending on the surface the tiles were installed on. We have more details in the following article: www.thesmarttiles.com/en_us/inspiration/why-peel-and-stick-wall-tiles-are-best-option-for-rental/. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Q:Countertops

Answer This Question
A: I would use these where they would not get much wear and tear. I'd be afraid to set anything down on them too. The overlapping seams might allow liquids to seep under the tile. I would not consider them suitable as a countertop. There are inexpensive countertops such as pine boards or butcher block then dress up a back splash with Smart Tiles.

A: Hello, thanks for your question. It is not recommended to install the Smart Tiles on a countertop, floor, ceiling. You can install as backsplash in the bathroom (will resist humidity) and kitchen (will resist heat of stovetops). Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions: 1-877-784-2733.

A: There are caps and edges available. I didn't use any caps on my projects. I just ended on the manufacturers edge. The cuts are in the corners.
