A:  Yes, these will work for that but these are if you have an angle to your joists. Mine were set at 45* for an angled deck.

A:  Based on size, the SUL26Z is appropriate for a nominal 2x8 (1 1/2" actual width). Be sure to confirm its capacity is adequate for your demand load (please see our website or current Wood Construction Connectors catalog for allowable loads). Ultimately it is up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to specify the appropriate connector. Thank you!

      Answer This Question

A:  The LUS410 has the standard G90 galvanized finish which provides a low level of corrosion protection and can be used with limited treated woods in dry, interior applications only. This hanger is also availed with the Z-MAX finish (LUS410Z) which provides a medium level of corrosion protection and can be used with more treated woods and applications. Please see the Corrosion section on our website/in our catalog (specifically the "Guidelines for Selecting the Proper Materials and Coatings") for the recommended finish based on your application/environment. Thank you!

A:  Hello Geoff, glad to help answer your question. Awesome Sounding House! Unfortunately, No these will not. Although I absolutely love to work with true dimensional lumber most current brackets will not fit. I ended up fabricating my own. I also did an extensive search for on the internet for brackets & they can be found & made so this is also an option for you. Good Luck & Hope this Helped.

A:  Yes - appropriate weight hanger nails however on the angled tab it works better to use decking screws because it's difficult strike the nail well.

A:  I used 2 inch coated screws installed with my power drill with a 3 inch magnetic extension. Yes, a tight fit but doable. You may need a longer extension and/or longer screws. You may not be able to see what you are doing, might just have to do it by feel.

A:  The LUS210 hanger has the standard G90 galvanized finish which provides a low level of corrosion protection. Typically, at least a medium level of protection is recommended for exterior conditions and with treated wood. Please see the Corrosion section on our website for the recommended finish based on your condition. This hanger is also available with the Z-MAX finish (LUS210Z) which provides a medium level of corrosion protection and in stainless steel (LUS210SS) which provides a high level of corrosion protection. Thank you!

A:  Hello Vern, glad to help answer your question. You would be better served using a solid 4x6 with a 16 inch on centers as joists if you are concerned about the weight it can hold. Doing this would provide you with an abundance of strength & weight capabilities. Hope this helped.

A:  The bottom of the hanger is 3.5 inches wide (fits the short side of a 4x6) and 2 1/4 inches deep. The hanger is 8.75 inches tall. The two faces facing each other are 1 3/16 inches and the other faces are 1 1/16 inches (complete width with faces would be about 5 5/8 inches).

                  Answer This Question

A:  For the full published capacity, the LUS210 requires 10d common nails (0.148" diameter x 3" long). However, 10dx1 1/2" nails can be used to the header only (full length 10d commons are still required for the double shear joist nailing) with a load adjustment factor of 0.64. Thank you!
