    Q:Can you place the carpet tiles onto existing carpet, instead of tearing out the old carpet so it can be used for cushioning?

    A:  ALWAYS remove existing carpet before installing any new flooring over it, this includes this carpet tile as well. Failure to do so won't allow it to adhere and even work at all over the floor. Any flooring installer will recommend this to you. Joseph
