A: The description of the bulb in the "manual" had me TOTALLY confused. If they had said, "smaller dimension base candelabra bulb" I would'a known exactly what there were talking about. However, when my son eventually knocked them over and they blew out ... I found that a simple 120V4W Christmas tree light works! Saved me bunches and since I got the white shade, I can change the color to suit his "mood" (from all my extra lights ... I have clear on now). I don't have a picture of the round bulb but they also make that with the smaller dimension metal base! So, either way, it can be round or candelabra but don't go over 40 watts.

A: I am using a 120v4w Clear Christmas tree bulb. If I remember right, it asks for a Candelabra bulb with the smaller dimension metal base. But I think you can use any smaller dimension metal base as long as you don't exceed 40 watts. This is a VERY small lamp. But, we love them (we have two)!
