A: Hi Cory. Cosmetically it is best to put some type of a divider post such as a short 4x4 or even 2x4 between them to then assist in bonding them together. I guess you could bond them directly together but you wouldn't have any post holding them up. Thanks for considering our product.

I like to think of our products as being very durable and while I think the product would hold up to that it would be very hard on it. A spring closing system with shower water would be hard on any door. I will say our full size 3' x 6' Gates would hold up better to than the smaller ones because the smaller ones are built with stationary screen use in mind. Like screening your garbage cans from view. Type in Cedar Gate in the search bar. They are constructed with large 6" rust free Lags and the structure is mortise and tenon with durable expanding PUR exterior glue. That would probably hold up to more of that kind of use. Either way, certainly it will hold up depending on use. Just go into it planning to take care of it. Thanks for considering our products.

A: yes, I mortised two weather resistant hinges into one panel and installed a small magnet to hold the gate closed.
