Answer This Question
A: If I understand your question, the nail protrudes approximately 3/4" from the base. When the felt swivel guide is attached the nail will go approximately 3/4" into the chair leg

A: Yes, the nail is 3/4" from the top of the hardware. 7/8" in total length.
by|May 2, 2019
A: The nail is 3/4” long from the brass plate. The overall length from felt to nail tip is 1-1/2”
by|May 2, 2019
A: It is 1 inch.
by|May 2, 2019
A: As I recall, it is about 3/4" or could have been 1"; it's been awhile since we used these.

A: Yes. Nails like 3/4 inch. Used them on two angles lounge chairs.

A: I see no reason where the leg angle would be an issue.

A: The nail is 1 inch long, and you can use them on straight leg chairs or slanted legs. They are easy to install, but you will need to drill a hole for the nail. Keep the size of the bit smaller than the nail so the nail is tight when it is installed.
by|May 2, 2019
A: The nail is about 7/8" long and yes you can use them on straight leg chairs. It is suggested you drill a small hole if it is not already in the bottom of the leg.

A: The nail is 8 tenths of an inch. Yes, you can use them on chair legs that are not angled.

A: The nail is 7/8" long, and yes these can be used on both straight or angled chair legs.
by|May 1, 2019
A: As I recall, the nail was about 3/4"-1" long. Although you could use these on a leg that is not at an angle, I wouldn't recommend it. They are very hard to nail on, as you are pounding on something that swivels out of the way from the hammer. We only got them because our legs were at an angle so we couldn't use regular felt pads. You would probably be better off getting the regular felt pads and gluing them on with a strong glue ( the adhesive that comes on these doesn't hold the pad in place for very long.)

A: Yes. They can be used on straight or angled legs.

A: We have chairs that have angled legs so they work great. They don't become unstable but protect the floors.

A: I only installed them today, but they're working great for me! No unsteadiness. It probably depends on the legs more than the glides though.

A: The swivel is there to match the plane of the floor increasing chair stability. Should be a good match for the floor. Make sure to keep debris swept up so it doesn't get trapped in felt and scratch floor.

A: Good choice for ceramic tile. Had similar floor in my house previously, they worked well. Pay attention to wear, replace as necessary.
by|May 5, 2023
A: These are quiet. However, it's possible that the joints between tiles might catch the felt more than a smooth floor, and wear them faster.
by|May 5, 2023
A: These work great to reduce noise on any hard surface.

A: I don't see a way to replace them easily. However, I believe there are a number of 1" felt glides on the market that might fit these if you tore the used felt off.

A: I have had these on my chairs for years and as the felt has worn, I have pulled off as much of the old felt as possible then used adhesive felt rounds to replace the worn felt. they generally last many years of normal use. I am in the market for new ones since we have gotten a new set of chairs.

A: Because of the ease of changing the entire unit, I wouldn't even consider just trying to change just the felt.
