A:  I used chain link fence posts. They are available at Home Depot in the fencing department

A:  The poles are in the lumber department. We used the wood posts, which are typically used for wood fencing. Perhaps pvc or metal posts could be used...but we opted for the wood fence posts because they're thick. That thickness - we feel - keeps them sturdy as heck when the wind is blowing. We buried them two feet into the ground; and poured a bag of cement & water. They were very sturdy. As for the angles of the sails - simply adjust / vary where the hooks are placed. Hope this helps :-)

A:  Hello, The poles are not included. The method of mounting is the responsibility of the consumer as everyone will be mounting it differently. If you have any additional questions or concerns please give us a call at 1-800-932-9344. Thank you

A:  You have to buy your own poles. I used four 8 foot 2 x 4 ‘s and put them in cement.

Q:I need to put something up so when it rains my dog will go out to the bathroom. I know this is for shade but will it prevent some rain from coming through or enough so my dog wouldn't mind going out under it in the rain to go to the bathroom?

A:  This is good shade material but isn't waterproof. We have several hung around my property and they will delay water during a light rain but not stop the water once the shade is wet. Most often the water collects at the lowest point and drips until dry.

A:  Hello, This is made of a heavy weight 230 GSM breathable polyethylene which allows rain to pass through as to not collect water. If you are looking for a waterproof shade, unfortunately, this will not work for your application. Thank you

A:  The rain will go right through it. I have mine over my pergola for shade but when it rains everything still gets wet. It may be a little finer as the rain filters through the shade fabric but still wet.

A:  The shade sail does not stop water from going through but it does tend to divert most of it to the lowest point generally the middle

A:  It let's water drain through. The better the angle- the better the drain. Its multiple layers of plastic weaved together. Shade is great!
