A:  I used lag hooks large size and screwed them through the Barge board into the rafter tails of the roof overhang. On the other side away from the house I attached it to tall chain link fence top rails attached to the back fence or you can sink them into the ground with some concrete if the fence is too far away. Has worked well no problem.

We recommend having the shade sails to be installed on a sturdy connection point such as a house, building, tree, or post. Also, it needs to be apart from each post or connection point of the same dimension of the shade sail, which is 16ft.
