Q:Is this product rated for outdoor use?

Answer This Question
A: I would advise using it inside use only. Outside products used need to be uv stable and must be able to be frozen without being compromised in cold climates. I would not use this product outside. It is made and works well for its intended purpose. Have used it for 3 seasons inside as designed and worked well for me.

A: Hello,
SharkBite oxygen barrier PEX tubing is suitable for outdoor use but must be protected from UV to prevent degradation. Typically, foam pipe insulation is suitable for protecting the tubing from U.V. It will also be important to prevent the water from freezing as this could cause damage to the tubing. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our technical support department at 877-700-4242.
Best Regards,

Q:Does the the orange Pex use the same fittings as all other types of Pex?

Answer This Question
A: Yes. The difference is in the PEX pipe itself. Since ferrous components are likely to be present in a radiant system, it is important to use oxygen barrier PEX pipe to help prevent ferrous components from rusting.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, our orange oxygen barrier PEX pipe is ideal for use for radiant floor and hydronic heating applications, our PEX tubing has an oxygen diffusion barrier that is applied to the exterior to limit oxygen permeation, which prevents corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system.
