A:  Hi, The SharkBite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x 3/4 in. MIP Brass Reducing Adapter Fitting will not connect to a garden hose. A:  Hi, The SharkBite 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect x 1/2 in. MIP Brass Reducing Adapter Fitting can be used in the way you described. If you are burying the fitting it must be wrapped in a silicone wrap to prevent erosion. I have enclosed a link to the silicone wrap. A:  Hello, The SharkBite 1/2 in. Push-to-Connect x 3/4 in. MIP Brass Reducing Adapter Fitting can be used on unthreaded copper pipe. You can screw on a tub spout as well as long as the thread sizes are the same. A:  Hello, SharkBite part # U116LFA has 3/4" male pipe thread. In order to connect this fitting to a garden hose you will have to find an adapter to go from 3/4" male pipe thread to garden hose thread. You can also take a look at SharkBite valve part # 25559LF (SKU # 1002621716) which has a 1/2" push-to-connect connection x male garden hose thread.
