Q:Can this be used on a CPVC water heater T&P Relief Valve discharge pipe? Its temp and pressure ratings are higher than the CPVC pipe itself (20 higher temp rating, and DOUBLE the pressure rating of the CPVC pipe). Thanks!

Answer This Question
A: Although you can call Sharkbite technical support (877-700-4242) for their help, I will offer my answer based on my personal experience. Although this fitting is rated at 200 psi, please verify that your relief valve is set below this value. Also be certain that you have fully inserted the pipe into the fitting by marking the pipe BEFORE you insert the pipe end into the fitting (1.125 in) for 3/4" pipe. If not, the pipe might "blow out" of the fitting due to the surge when the relief valve releases the excessive pressure. Hope this helps and good luck.
