A:  The capacity of 2500 lbs is only on the feet. The wheels only have a 300 lb capacity according to my catalog so you shouldn't exceed 1200 lbs with the wheels

A:  I'm not sure I understand the question. The wheels themselves of the casters suggested for use with the 5-tier shelving unit are approximately ONE INCH WIDE from one side of the rolling edge that hits whatever surface the wheel is on to the other, with a diameter (across the entire width of the wheel) of 4 inches. If you intend to put any sort of weight on the unit (which is supposed to hold up to 600 pounds), you will need the casters recommended for use with it.

A:  I am sorry, I am not sure I understand the question. The diameter is 2 inches, the thickness is 1 1/2 inches

A:  I don't have my directions anymore but I believe it was China.

A:  I believe it is made in China, but to be certain, I'd suggest you call the manufacturer, Sandusky in Millington, Tennessee at (901) 872-0188 to verify.

A:  Yes, I think it will rust.

A:  Not sure - I have mine indoors - master closet actually for bedding ++. Well made and heavy duty but don't know about possible rust.

A:  The unit comes with the poles in two sections that are attached together via a threaded coupling. You could set up the unit as two 36" high shelf units if you chose not to assemble the poles. This however would result in not having the feet or wheels for one of the units. If you're handy, you could also cut off the poles to the desired height. Just make sure that if you want the unit to be more than 36" (which is the length the support poles come as) high, that you cut the poles on the non-threaded end so that you can still assemble the poles together. If you cut off the threaded end you will not be able to use the threaded connector to make a pole longer than 36".

A:  Maybe a replacement shelf but the way the system is put together, you could not add another shelf. It is a great system and holds plenty. Cans and glass jars sometimes tip between the bars of the shelves.
