Q:We had to shut off the water valve under the sink & bend the water line & water is still dripping through the line.

Answer This Question

A:  If it is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer or dealer and get it looked at pronto. These fridges seem to have a lot of problems. There may be some user groups on line that can help you get it fixed for free or at a nominal cost. In mine the ice maker kept freezing up and not making ice. I finally had to buy a used fridge and use tht while i unplugged my new one and let it set for several weeks in my garage until all the ice was gone and then I used it in the garage for a few weeks until I was sure it was OK. It's back in the kitchen and has worked flawlessly for about 3 months. As an added benefit I have an additional ice maker in my garage and additional fridge and freezer space. Yours is not the first horror story I've heard with this particular appliance and I would definitely not recommend ti to any one.

Q:I lost the manual for my refrigerator. It was turned off by mistake. How do I turn it back on?

    Answer This Question

A:  Unplug the power cord of the refrigerator, and then plug it in again after 1 minute. Here is a link to a use and care manual: http://pdf.lowes.com/useandcareguides/887276341323_use.pdf Maybe you set freezer temperature for 0°F and you interpret this as OFF. Maybe you activated Control Lock. When Control Lock is on, the indicator blinks if any button on the main panel is pressed. If you press and hold the button again for more than 3 seconds, Control Lock will be deactivated. However, Control Lock will be reactivated if no button is pressed within 1 minute Maybe you activated Sabbath Mode. To deactivate Sabbath Mode, press and hold Door Alarm and Water/Ice simultaneously again for 5 seconds. NOTE • If the refrigerator powers off and restarts (for example, if there is a power failure), the Sabbath mode remains active. To end Sabbath Mode, you must deactivate it as described above. • Controls must be unlocked before activating Sabbath mode. To activate Sabbath Mode, press and hold Door Alarm and Water/Ice simultaneously for 5 seconds. When the refrigerator is in Sabbath mode, the buttons, the display, and the internal lights do not function. The refrigerator and freezer, however, continue to cool. • To deactivate Sabbath Mode, press and hold Door Alarm and Water/Ice simultaneously again for 5 seconds. NOTE • If the refrigerator powers off and restarts (for example, if there is a power failure), the Sabbath mode remains active. To end Sabbath Mode, you must deactivate it as described above. • Controls must be unlocked before activating Sabbath mode. Samsung Electronics America, Inc. 85 Challenger Road Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) www.samsung.com/us/support I can’t figure out how you turned it off.

Q:Can you place this refrigerator in an unheated/not cooled garage?

    Answer This Question

A:  Yes but there are cheaper options than Stainless Steel for a "Garage refrigerator". Unless you have water hooked up, make sure ice maker is turned OFF!

    by|Mar 5, 2020

A:  I wouldn't put it in or leave it in the garage, they seem to be a bit fragile and I think it would seriously shorten the life of the unit.

    by|Mar 5, 2020

A:  Only if you want to stress the compressor and have it fail within a year.

    by|Mar 4, 2020

A:  I have a similar Samsung refrigerator in my unheated garage for the past year or two and it has been working fine.

    Q:What is depth

    Answer This Question

A:  DEPTH WITHOUT DOOR 28 7/8 " . In other words, you need to a minimum clearance in all doorways DEPTH WITHOUT HANDLE 33 1/2 " DEPTH TO DOOR HANDLE 36 ". Normally shipped with handles off to go through a 36” door. A couple of bonus answers HEIGHT WITH HINGE 70” WIDTH (FITS 36" OPENING) 35 3/4 " You may have a water supply valve that protrudes from wall and you don’t want to crimp water supply line! Some homes have water supply valve recessed in wall but that is an option that costs builder more money. In order for your refrigerator to work well, it has to breathe and get rid of the excess heat energy that it removes from the food and air that rushes into refrigerator while you stand there with the doors open. Allow 3.75" of clearance when installing along a wall. This will allow for the door to open 90 degrees without the handle contacting wall. Allow 2" minimum clearance at rear for proper air circulation and water/electrical connections Allow a 3/8" minimum clearance at sides and top for ease of installation. Mine has side vents for compressor air/heat exhaust so I think I need an inch on each side for air to move. You really want/need a 39” opening for any 36” refrigerator!

A:  1- the specs are in the specs section 2- don’t buy one.the ice maker is unreliable. Samsung doesn’t honor the warranty on it, and Home Depot refuses to fix it under their extended warranty.

A:  We, too, purchased a 2013 Samsung fridge and it was THE WORST appliance purchase of our lives. Indeed, after 3 years of ownership, we sold this $2000 Devil's Appliance for $200 because the ice maker gave us years of trouble. Trouble that Samsung was/is fully aware of but refuses to acknowledge that a problem existed, despite sending out THREE repair notices to their repair people. I called Samsung at the behest of a repair person to whom I paid $99 to diagnose the problem. He saiid he could have told me over the phone what the problem was because he had seen 100+ cases similar to mine, and he then gave me the number to Samsung Executive Service--a HUGE misnomer--who said they would send the parts to the repairman FOR FREE if I would pay the additional labor of $200. I agreed. Four months later, Samsung said the repairman refused the work order and they had no one else to fix it. we're in a county with over 1,000,000 people and they have ONE repair person?! Anyway, I fixed it myself according to the Samsung repair notice with a NEW ICE MAKER MOTOR and FAN--factory NEW from Samsung. That was my next mistake--buying a NEWLY designed motor which was as poorly designed as the last. After 4 months (90 day warranty, of course) the same problem returned. Six months later, I got tired of bagged ice and sold the Samsung to a family in need for much less that it should have been worth, and I bought myself a NEW "LG" with dual icemakers. 2 years on, NO TROUBLES! In short, DO NOT GO TO SAMSUNG FOR REPAIR! Put up with it as long as you can and then buy an LG or ANY OTHER BRAND THAN SAMSUNG! You might not be happy with another brand but you'll be happier than if you bought another Samsung because the problem STILL EXISTS!!
