A:  The Platinum is actually a painted finish, whereas the stainless steel is just that- stainless. The platinum is probably easier to keep clean, but our concern was with matching it to other appliances. That's why we stayed with the stainless steel finish.

A:  The door is made stainless steel. Very easy to clean on stainless steel. Just wipe hand grease on stainless door with rubbing alcohol. Magnet will NOT attract to the stainless steel door. But the side made of magnetic metal. You can hold pictures, notes... to the side of fridge with magnet. Platinum door?? never hear of that. if samsung do made them, it is expensive!!

A:  I thought I was getting stainless steel because that is the way it is listed in the website and I asked the store associate: it is not. The door isplastic painted a platinum color and the magnets do not stick to it. I

A:  The key difference between Stainless Platinum and Stainless Steel that many people note is that real stainless steel is usually not magnetic, so if you like to hang photos and kids' artwork on your refrigerator, you might want to choose our "Stainless Platinum" finish, which is Samsung's name for the stainless-look, because it is magnetic. A:  They can very easily deliver it thru 30" door way. They can ever take the doors off if needed to fit in a much narrower doorway.

A:  I move mine through 28 inch door but need to remove the door handles The three door handles have hex screw. The doors can be easily removed.

A:  Yes, my house has standard door opening of 29/30 inches. They easily removed the freezer door and just opened the french door top to swing it in. Pretty amazing actually.

A:  The sides are greay and match the stainless steel front. It looks like a classic fridge material, so you can use magnets on the side. You cannot use magnets on the front.

A:  The height of the RF217ACRS without the hinges (case only) is 68-5/8", and Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" clearance above the refrigerator, as well as 2" behind it and 1" on each side, to allow for sufficient air flow. If your cabinets don't provide for enough clearance, you may want to consider either the RF220NCTASR or RF221NCTASR, both of which measure 29-3/4" wide by 65-3/8" high without the hinges by 33-7/8" deep with the doors but without handles. The case depth is 30-1/2" and the depth with the handles is 36-3/8". These options provide 21.6 cubic feet of storage (compared to 19.7 c.f. for the RF217ACRS), flexible half-width shelving, and automatic ice makers in the freezer. A:  68 7/8 is the measurement of the box without the top front. That also allows for the footing of the refrigerator.

A:  My maximums are 30D X 33 3/4 W X 71 1/2 H. I have a cabinet over head. Just delivered today and it looks great and I can see a little space all around the edges. Very happy.

A:  Thanks for the question. The design of the plug for the refrigerators is not a published specification so can vary. However, it's worth noting that Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" behind the RF217ACRS to allow for air flow and ease of movement, which would leave enough space for different types of plugs, as well. - Ms. Samsung

A:  I want to say yes... Our refrigerator does sit all the way back (to the wall).

A:  I don't believe any fridge is designed to go flat against a wall due to airflow for the compressor. Ours was installed with just under 2" clearance to the wall.

A:  Thanks for the question. The RF217ACBP doesn't have an internal filter, so you'll need to install an external filtration system in order to filter the water for the ice maker. - Ms. Samsung
