Q:is fan remote control compatable
by|Aug 9, 2017

Answer This Question
A: It is compatible in so far as the technology working the fan. However, the module that has to be installed on the fan side is made for down rod fans not flush mounts. If you can find a place to house the receiver/module it will work.

Q:Is there a cap included to use without the light kit?
by|Aug 18, 2016

Answer This Question
A: Yes
But you've already paid for light kit and bulbs, so what are you going to use them for? Something extra in attic?
Fan is "Hugger" so even with light kit, you have about 7 foot clearance.
And there are A-15 LED bulbs (Both Dimmable and Non-dimmable) that use only 6 Watts for so called 60 Watt equivalent.

A: Yes it comes capped and you have to remove the cap to install the light kit, so if you don't want the the light kit just leave it capped.

Q:it says it comes with a wall switch is that just a on off switch. can fans be wired in tandum

Answer This Question
A: It does not come with a switch, it can be controlled by a switch in the wall. They want to sell you 10 switches.
if the longest wall in a room is more than 15 feet they recommend a fan with 52" blades so one fan does most rooms. To me frequently means more than 40% of the time and I doubt if most orders are for different size fans. In my case it was for two bedrooms of same size and shape, one faces west and one faces north but I went with same size in each room because some day I'm going to sell this place.
If a room is big enough to need two fans, you probably want them on separate switches so you can turn them on individually. The two switches can be right next to each other in a wall box as you enter the room.
If you don't want to snake another wire through the wall, you can put two fans in parallel. Tandem sort of means in series like a tandem bicycle and you definitely don't want them is series!
This fan is a "Hugger" (no down rod) and huggers don't lend themselves to hand held remotes but this one has such a large ceiling plate, you can cut some ceiling drywall next to your ceiling box and slide the receiver above ceiling drywall. (They normally are right above top of down rod in the ceiling "bell") Receivers have a short antenna that normally hands down in bell so antenna location may be a problem.
Fan and light chains were long enough for an adult and can be easily lengthened.

Q:What type of light bulb does this fan take?

Answer This Question
A: These come with the small E12 Candelabra sockets and a 40 watt incandescent bulb. These bulbs are not very bright. You can buy LED bulbs that are 60, 75, & 100 watt equivalent, but they are very expensive because they are not a common socket size.

A: Socket is candelabra base.
Mine came with 4 X 40 Watt incandescent which is fine since I put it on a speed control/dimmer.

Q:is the light able to be hooked up to a dimmer switch?
by|Mar 24, 2016

Answer This Question
A: Yes, you can put this on two switches, one for the light, and another for the fan. Because the lights that come with are Incandescent, you can put this on a dimmer switch. If you replace the bulbs with LED, just make sure they too are dimmer capable.
