Q:I need to mount this by a vent in my closet that overflows in heavy rains. Since the sensor wire is only 10.5 in long, the device itself will also get wet if I place it close enough to put the sensors on the floor by the vent. Is the device waterproof?

A: Toggle the POWER ON/OFF switch to turn on the SABRE Water Leak Alarm. When the unit alarm is ON and senses water, the red LED light flashes fast. Toggle volume HI/LO switch to adjust to either High or Low volume. The unit will sound the alarm when it senses water. To disarm the unit, toggle the POWER ON/OFF switch to off. The high volume on this unit is 110dB.

A: The Sensors for the SABRE Water Leak Alarm should be mounted where the presence of water needs to be detected. The Sensors should be mounted on any hard or flat surface with the provided adhesive tape. The Sensors must come in direct contact with the water in order for the alarm to activate.
