Q:Do I need to buy tape, or is the adhesive already on the underlayment sufficient to hold the seams together?

A:  Roberts Airguard comes complete with 4 in. overlap seam with adhesive strip joins pieces and seals out moisture for added protection. An additional tape such as Roberts Model Number: 50-040 Underlayment Seam Tape is ideal for joining underlayment seams under floating floors and for repairing rips during underlayment installation.

    A:  No. Airguard is specially designed to work as a floating underlayment under engineered or laminate flooring. However, you may want to consider Model Number: 70-198 ROBERTS® Silicone Moisture Barrier Underlayment is designed to protect floors from moisture, without trapping it underneath between the flooring and wooden subfloor. This product is for use with staple and nail down installations of solid, engineered and wood floors.

      A:  No. Airguard is recommended for use with engineered wood and laminate flooring without pre-attached pad. You may want to consider, Roberts 70-197 Sound Barricade underlayment for LVP/LVT.

              A:  That is how I used this product. My home was built in 1919 so when I pulled out the carpet the floor underneath wasn't worth messing with. I had no problems at all using it over the exiting floor.

                    A:  The Air Guard Underlayment is not a hard material. It is composed of polyethylene, small Styrofoam balls, and a 2-mil top layer. It also has an overlap film to help join pieces together and lock out moisture. Customer Care

                      A:  No, it’s small styrofoam balls encapsulated in two layers of plastic. The edge does have an adhesive strip on it to seal rows together.
